Trócaire’s Horn & East Africa Regional Office (HEARO) offers a challenging opportunity for a self directed, dynamic and highly motivated persons for the following position in the Somalia programme.

Project Accountant

The position:
Based in Nairobi with occasional travel to Mandera, the Project Accountant in collaboration with the Finance Manager, and other teams will ensure adherence to quality financial stewardship, internal control and promotion of good financial management practice and compliance with audit requirements for the Somalia programme.
The position comprises day to day financial management support with special focus on financial operations and reporting for donor contracts.

Competencies:
* Possession of a Bachelors degree in finance or accounting in addition to an accountancy qualification such as CPA (K), ACCA or CIMA.
* Minimum five years experience with a similar role.
* Excellent knowledge of accounting/ finance management software and ability to adapt to such systems/ software.
* Ability to prepare and present concise and accurate financial reports.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Good professional verbal and written communication skills.
