X Colloquium - Call for Applications open until June 30

We are writing to inform you that applications for the X International
Human Rights Colloquium (São Paulo, Brazil, October 9 – 16, 2010) are
now open and we would like to invite you to apply!

The topic for the X Colloquium will be: "Regional and International
Human Rights Systems: Challenges for Civil Society Participation”. The X
Colloquium will approach, from a Global South perspective, three roles
of the regional human rights systems: protection in individual cases,
monitoring general situations, and standard-setting. It will also
collectively discuss the possibilities of mutual influence and exchange
between the regional systems and the international system of human
rights protection.

Given the central theme of the X Colloquium, we encourage activists who
have had experience in engaging with regional systems or who wish to
broaden their expertise with these mechanisms to apply.

and full scholarships available. The closing date for applications is
