Regional Human Resources Manager (Horn, East and Central Africa)
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Contract type & level: B1 Global open ended
Salary: GBP 29,013 – 38406 net per annum plus competitive benefits.
Background
Oxfam GB works with others to overcome poverty and suffering in circa 60 countries across the world including nine countries in the Horn, East and Central Africa region. We work in difficult contexts with humanitarian, development and campaigns programmes.
This role offers you a challenging and rewarding experience in human resources as well as an opportunity to work with teams making a real impact on poverty and suffering.
We are looking for the right person to head our Human Resources function as a business partner to ensure best practices in people management across the region, totaling 800 number of staff across the nine countries in which we operate.
The Role
As a key member of our Regional Management Team (RMT), you’ll provide specialist advice on HR and business issues, and will play a highly influential role in nurturing positive organisational culture that focuses on creating the right environment for our people and teams to flourish.
Working with teams, senior managers and other Oxfam affiliates across the region, you will ensure the high quality implementation of HR standards. As part of a global team of HR professionals, you’ll play a key role in shaping Oxfam’s global HR agenda and the execution of an international people strategy.
You will manage and develop the performance of the regional HR team to deliver reliable and professional services that meet the needs of the business. This includes the ability to anticipate and respond to rapid changes in business demands (such as large emergency responses) by adapting business processes and ways of working.
As Oxfam moves towards implementing a Single Management Structure framework alongside all other Oxfam affiliates there is the opportunity for the post holder to
lead on OD / Change Management activities in some countries, and support other Oxfam affiliates in their implementation elsewhere within the Region.
The Person
With experience of providing HR leadership across more than one country, you’ll ideally have worked in the Horn, East and Central Africa region and you will certainly be sensitive to the complexities of working in a multicultural environment.
You will be committed to the beliefs and values of Oxfam.
This will be reflected in your approach to working with your team. You will have a full professional qualification in Human Resource Management and/or substantial HR experience including operations and strategic HR, in a senior HR management position with exposure to organizational change, organizational development and diagnosis.
