Chief of party agriculture job in Tanzania

CHIEF OF PARTY, AGRICULTURE, Tanzania
Tetra Tech ARD (www.ardinc.com) is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified Chief of Party candidates for a potential 5 year USAID-funded Market-based Solutions to Reduce Poverty and Improve Nutrition project in Tanzania. The Chief of Party will provide long-term technical and managerial direction to promote improved, more nutritious and affordable food products for the vulnerable groups, and value-added of targeted agricultural commodities through improvements in Tanzania’s agricultural processing sector.  This project will focus on; 1) the agro- processing linkage in the rice, maize and horticulture value chains, 2) increase investment in medium- and small scale enterprises, and 3) make more nutritious process foods available and affordable to vulnerable groups. 
Responsibilities:
--The COP will be responsible for leading all technical, financial and administrative aspects of the program.
-- Coordinate closely with USAID in developing, implementing, and revising the project’s overall field strategy;
-- The candidate must be the principal link between USAID, Tetra Tech ARD, and other partners;
-- Provide overall guidance to subcontractors and grant recipients;
-- Provide comprehensive expert technical oversight and guidance in all aspects of the program, including monitoring and evaluation, and reporting.

COP Qualifications:
-- Advanced degree in business administration, agricultural economics, economics or other related field.
-- Minimum 10-15 years of experience managing and implementing interdisciplinary development projects in the private and/ or agricultural sector, preferably in an East Africa context.
--Previous experience implementing similar projects in agro-processing development highly preferred.
--Previous USAID project Chief of Party experience preferred.
-- Experience working collaboratively with a broad range of government officials, international donors, implementing partners, and other relevant sector stakeholders.
-- Demonstrated competence in leadership, client relations, and project and contract management
-- Ability to work and travel in remote areas of the region to oversee program implementation and provide technical expertise.
--Familiarity with USAID regulations, procedures, protocols, and reporting requirements;
--Familiarity with USAID grants programming and management;
--Demonstrated history of providing deliverables on time and within budget.
-- S/he must be fluent in written and spoke English; advanced fluency in Swahili is strongly desired.
