Tanzania Country Program Coordinator SWISSAID Vacancy Announcement

SWISSAID is an international NGO, that has been working in Tanzania for the past 17 years, supporting small-scale
producer groups in Kagera, Mtwara and Coast regions.
SWISSAID is supporting people’s initiatives for development, particularly those addressing three key issues: strengthening community organizations and civil society; sustainable agricultural production and marketing; and enhanced access and sustainability of micro credit services. Gender and HIV/AIDS as cross-cuffing issues are mainstreamed in SWISSAID program.
Main Job Purpose: To manage and develop SWISSAID’s program and Coordination Office in Tanzania and represent SWISSAID in Tanzania.
Position in Organization
The Coordinator reports to: – Desk Officer (SWISSAID Head Office Switzerland)
Duty Station: SWISSAID Coordination Office (Coof) Dar es Salaam with frequent visits in the rural areas of intervention, namely Kagera and Mtwara Regions.
Scope of Job
· Coordinating and representing SWISSAID Tanzania
· Overall management of SW1SSAID’s office and country program
· Advocacy and lobbying on issues related to the program
· Coordination of Public Relation (PR), information and fundraising
· Secretary of Local Advisory Board and contribution to SWISSAID’s internal networking and institutional development
· Follow-up on projects through field visits, meetings and any other means of contact with partners.
· Coordination and writing of reports, write ups and strategic papers
Primary Qualifications
· At least ten years experience in rural development or related fields in a senior position
· Master degree in economics, social sciences, or agriculture
· Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills
· Strong leadership and management skills
· Strong skills in administrative, financial and human resources management
· Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
· Strong commitment for justice and the rights of marginalized people
· Experience in management of development programs and good understanding of development approaches and methods
· Good understanding of the country situation
· Share organizational values
· High degree of commitment and integrity
· Fluency in written and spoken Kiswahili and English
· Computer literacy
