Information and Communication Technology Leader
Qualification
* Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
* Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) (Desirable)
* Cisco Certified Network Associate Wireless (CCNA® Wireless)
* Must Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) highly desirable.
* Server Experience- Windows Server 2003/2008 with Active Directory, Linux or Univ server, Exchange, SQL Server, BackupExec, CentOS 5 with Apache, MySQL, OpenVPN , and Ops View
* SNMP monitoring, VMware Server, VMware ESXi, Cisco router.
* Strong knowledge ofApple Macintosh and PC hardware and software technology.
* E-learning experience will be an added advantage
* Must hold a relevant Masters Degree from a recognized institution.
* Experience in Project Management is highly desired.
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years working experience managing large, complex programs in sub Sahara Africa preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
* The person will report to Mr. Ahaz Kulanga, Deputy Provost- Administration and will interact with various
* functional Units at KCMC to develop a robust IC’I’ system ensuring compliance with several United States Federal agencies regulations.
* Oversees the installation and commissioning of the WAN! CAN! LAN at KCMC
* Develops and provide primary “help desk” technical support system for departmental computers (desktop, laptop), servers, and peripheral devices. The Help desk responsibilities to be handled by the technicians will include trouble shooting hardware, operating systems, application software, network connectivity, and servers.
* Assures that all systems are kept up to date with respect to virus protection, virus definitions, and critical system updates. Be the principal liaison with KCMC Information Systems analysts relative to network security. This also includes creating and maintaining an accurate inventory of computer hardware, relevant system configuration information (for example network ip address), and pertinent software licenses.
* Designs, specifics, and documents LAN configurations according to user needs, utilizing outside support resources as appropriate.
* Develops and monitors appropriate security procedures to safeguard systems from physical harm and viruses, unauthorized users, and damage to data.
* Monitors performance of the organizations’ electronic mail network systems through quality and spot checks of performance
* Prepares to administer training in new systems for security and WAN connectivity when necessary to local IT, data, and lab staff.
* Plans and prepares technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of program development.
* Works with the e-learning professionals to develop and execute e-Learning programs include web-based applications.
* Candidates must have demonstrated analytic, written, and oral communications skills.
* Develop in-depth understanding of the scope of activities under the partnership with a basic understanding of the goals of individual projects.
Remuneration and Terms

* 5-year contract; probation period of 6 months.
