Northern Water Services Board (NWSB) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Water and Irrigation.
The board is responsible for provision of water and sanitation services in the following counties namely: Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, Isiolo, Marsabit, Laikipia and Samburu.
In order to strengthen its internal control systems NWSB invites applications from qualified candidates to fill a vacant position of Internal Auditor.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Development and Implementation of quarterly and annual audit plans and programs
* Conducting audit assessments and tests in order to ensure compliance with the board’s policies, procedures and regulations
* Assisting in procedural audits in the board, water service providers and district water offices to assure the effectiveness of the existing internal control systems
* Auditing board asset use and accounting to ascertain effectiveness and efficiency
* Auditing all payments made by the board to ensure compliance with budget provisions, policies and procedures
* Assisting in monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of the risk management framework for adequate corporate governance in the board and the appointed water service providers
* Ensure actions are taken on the implementation of internal and external audit recommendations
Qualifications
* Have a degree in commerce, business administration or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university
* A minimum of CPA III
* At least 3 years relevant audit experience
* He/she should be a person of strong analytical skills and high ethical and professional standards
* Be proficient in the use of computer packages
