ACE, International Consultants, S.L. has been invited to prepare an offer for the project “Competitiveness Enhancement Programme (CEP) for Agro-Industries in Southern Africa (Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia and Zambia).”
They are looking for the following experts to lead this project:
The Coordinator/Lead Consultant:
Qualifications, skills and professional experience
· At least 10 years experience in Small and Medium sized enterprises (SMEs) value addition and diversification, quality improvement, and management;
· A degree in economics, commerce, engineering and/or development field;
· ISO accredited
· Experience in SMEs capacity building strategies and programs;
· Knowledge of groups and cluster approach, especially in individual mentoring and coaching of SMEs
· Knowledge of the agro-industries sector;
· Knowledge of EPAs and other investment and trade related agreements;
· Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written, in English; and
· In depth technical knowledge of the African regional integration agenda and of bilateral trade agreements in Southern Africa
International experts (management)
Qualifications, skills and professional experience
· At least 10 years experience in Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) value addition and in particular management;
· A degree in social sciences, management, economics, commerce, engineering and/or related field;
· Experience in organizational overview, integrated management planning, business planning, sourcing of finance, management practices, human resources management etc.;
· Exposure to accounting systems implementation and performance management and reporting;
· Knowledge in SMEs training and capacity building strategies and programs in management;
· Knowledge and experience in individual and group mentoring and coaching of SMEs;
· ISO accreditation in management, would be an advantage;
· Knowledge of agro-industries would be an advantage;
Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written, in English; and
· In depth technical knowledge of the African regional integration agenda and of bilateral trade agreements in Southern Africa
International experts (product diversification/expansion)
Qualifications, skills and professional experience
· At least 10 years experience in Small and Medium sized enterprises (SMEs) value addition and in particular product diversification/expansion;
· A degree in marketing, commerce, engineering, economics and/or other related field;
· Experience in market strategies for exports and/or products as well as conducting market studies for exports/products;
· Knowledge in SMEs training and capacity strategies and programs;
· Knowledge and experience tailor-made technical assistance through mentoring/coaching of individual SMEs in product diversification/expansion;
· Knowledge of the agro-industries sector;
· ISO accreditation, would be an advantage;
· Knowledge of EPAs and other investment and trade related agreements, would be an advantage;
· Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written, in English; and
· In depth technical knowledge of the African regional integration agenda and of bilateral trade agreements in Southern Africa.

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), HACCP, Safety, health and environment (SHE) policy, environmental management systems (EMS), good manufacturing practices etc.
· Knowledge in SMEs training and capacity building strategies and programs for SMEs.
· Knowledge and experience in individual mentoring and coaching and of SMEs in quality;
· Knowledge of the agro-industries sector;
· Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written, in English; and
· In depth technical knowledge of the African regional integration agenda and of bilateral trade agreements in Southern Africa.

A degree in engineering, food science, chemistry, physics and/or related field;
· ISO accreditation;
· Experience in new products development, HACCP standards, technology review and
selection, production and logistics, maintenance etc.;
· Knowledge and experience in SMEs training and capacity building strategies and
programs;
· Knowledge of group companies and cluster approach, especially in individual mentoring and coaching of SMEs in process improvement;
· Knowledge of the agro-industries sector;
· Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written, in English; and
· In depth technical knowledge of the African regional integration agenda and of bilateral trade agreements in Southern Africa.
