Christ is the Answer Ministries Request for Proposal – Sound Consultancy

Background Information
Christ Is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) formerly known as Nairobi Pentecostal Church was established in 1959. In
2003 Nairobi Pentecostal Church (NPC) changed its name to Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) and registered
as an autonomous independent entity under the Societies Act of Kenya.
Christ is the Answer Ministries currently oversees eight church assemblies namely; Valley Road, Woodley, Karen Parklands, Ngong, Kisumu, Buruburu, and Thika Road, as well as several Ministry Units/Institutions, namely Hope FM (Radio), 4 academic institutions, NPC Children’s centre in Kiserian and a catering unit.
1. Assignment Overview
Good Sound is one of the vital aspects of the CITAM assemblies and HOPE FM. Often the ministry has experienced  challenges in offering quality sound during the Sunday services and other functions. The CITAM Leadership has therefore recommended the hiring of a consultant to provide an in-depth analysis to the causes of the production of
unsatisfactory sound, with a view of finding lasting solutions.
2. Terms of Reference for the Consultant(s)
The consultant will:-
  • Carry out an electro acoustic survey in all assemblies
  • Audit the existing sound equipment and give current status and suitability
  • Audit the storage and archiving system
  • Advise on integration of a sound and video equipment
  • Conduct skill and training analysis for capacity building
  • Establish a suitable standardization structure for the equipment across all CITAM assemblies
  • Develop a standard procurement procedure and technical specification for all equipment
  • Assess existing network infrastructure with a view of making future provisions/upgrades
  • Advise on quality, recording, archiving and storage
  • Explore WAN real-time traffic deployment at the various assemblies
  • Recommend on how the sound system and the auxiliary equipment (keyboards, drums, guitars etc) should be integrated
  • Recommend a cost effective multi phased implementation matrix
  • Networking of voice, data and video services in the LAN and WAN routing topologies including devices that facilitate server, Internet, remote access links and other configurations.
  • Any other relevant technological inputs that will enhance the spread of the Gospel.
4. Evaluation Criteria:
The consultants will be evaluated on the following parameters:-
  • Fulfill all legal requirements including but not limited to Certificate of Registration, Tax Compliance, Physical Address, PIN No, Directorship etc.
  • Demonstrate technical abilities/competence through citations and qualifications of its members of technical staff. A list of referees will also be a requirement.
  • Ability to carry out a comprehensive assessment of current audio and visual infrastructure and make recommendations.
  • Innovativeness
  • Competent on general ICT environments. This will include multi-platform networking of Audio, data and Video (Linux, sun, windows environments), Video conferencing, production and rendering.
  • Ability to carry out sufficient training for media crew
  • Ability by the stipulated terms of reference
  • Listing of other clients where similar assignment was carried out.

Matrix Development Consultants - Senior Cadastral Specialist (Full-Time)


Matrix Development Consultants is an international consulting company incorporated and registered in Kenya with offices in Nairobi. For over 25 years, Matrix has partnered with development agencies to implement projects throughout Eastern and Southern Africa. Matrix, together with our partner, is currently implementing a project in Mozambique for Component 3 – Support for Land Administration Systems and the National Land Cadastre.
We are seeking a Senior Cadastral Specialist (Full-Time) to be based in Maputo with travel to project sites in country.
  1. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES:

Improvements in the administration of land through the more effective management of land records and the cadastre and improvements to service delivery in the land sector is one of the central objectives of the MCA programme. Key elements of the MCA land component are improvements to the cadastre under a wider programme of improvement to the administration of land. Component 3 therefore requires institutional strengthening and support to the national and provincial cadastral offices in the northern provinces. This support will be in the form of technical Assistance and upgrading of the SPGC and District Offices in the north and ICT improvements to the Cadastre and land information systems. This will however require establishing standards and norms at central level and completing an overall audit and review of the principal spatial datasets.
  1. SCOPE OF WORK:

The Scope of Work for the Cadastral Specialist will include the following:
  • Establishing and maintaining links with the relevant national, provincial and municipal authorities in relation to the development of land administration procedures;
  • Coordination of the needs assessment in respect to land administration and assistance to the development of a proposal for a national Land Administration Strategy;
  • Overseeing the development and introduction of improved procedures, norms and standards in respect to Land Administration processes;
  • Development of methods for the use and digitizing of existing cadastral archives
  • Support to the development of training materials and curricula for land administration staff.
  1. SPECIFIC TASKS/ACTIVITIES:

Cadastral work will be undertaken at both the Central and Decentralised levels. At decentralised level both the SPGCs and the municipalities will be included in the target provinces. A senior cadastral specialist will be based at central level and four mid-level specialists located in the provinces.
Specific tasks and activities of all of the Land Cadastre Specialists include the following;
  • Completion of a review of all current procedures and recording of information for the cadastre. This should be done in close consultation with all land administration staff in the municipalities and the SPGCs. Compilation of accurate statistics on current work flows, numbers of parcels recorded per year, field inspections etc plus principal constraints will be an essential part of the work.
  • Analysis in each of the selected districts and municipality areas of the current capacity for cadastral mapping.
  • Oversee the development of cadastral procedures and norms in rural and urban contexts, and establishment of a basis for information to be incorporated into a national land information system;
  • Development of an up-to-date spatial framework data for cadastral purposes
  1. OUTPUTS and DELIVERABLES:

The specialist will make contributions to:
    • Compilation of all existing records and statistics to a basic set of standards for analysis and for re-design of systems and procedures.
    • The National Land Administration Strategy as the final output of the needs assessment – as the main output will define all subsequent implementation activities
    • Proposals for improving service delivery
    • Provincial/District Cadastral Office Strengthening
    • Municipal Cadastral Office Strengthening

Duties & responsibilities:

Ensure proper management and control of settlements (land-use management)in the camp.

Knowledge skills & abilities required:

Bachelor degree in Economic Development, Community Development, Sociology. Experience of 3 years in the samel related field and 1 year in supervisory level. Preferred: Masters in Economic Development and Sociology.

DAI is recruiting for a short-term consultant to serve as a Team Leader on a program design effort focused on the development of two separate youth programs for USAID/Kenya, one in Eastleigh and one in the Coastal region (specific locations to be determined).
The program will endeavor to address the myriad challenges facing youth in these areas, challenges that if left unaddressed might contribute to the risk of instability and/or radicalization in these vulnerable areas.
The Team Leader shall oversee a design team. The design team, including the Team Leader, shall consist of individuals with relevant Kenyan experience and must include individuals with a deep understanding of Islam, Somali, and Coastal culture. Team members will also possess demonstrated practical experience in designing similar types of programs dealing with extremism, youth empowerment, experience in Eastleigh and the Coast, and experience with the design of USAID programs.
Due to the nature and complexity of the design, it is expected that the team will consist of multiple individuals, with one coordinator responsible for pulling all of the sections together.

1. Lecturer in Composition and Writing-Across-The Curriculum
The applicant should have a PhD in English composition, rhetoric, cultural studies or communication. A Ph.D. in literature, with experience in composition teaching and supervising will be an added advantage. Experience in Theatre and Drama coaching highly desired.
2. Lecturer in Communication-I
Applicants should have a Masters Degree in Communication and Professional experience in electronic media. The successful applicant will teach in the area of Communication, Television, and journalism.
3. Lecturer in Communication-II
The applicant must have a PhD in Communication and considerable journalism or publishing experience in either local or international media houses. Those with a combination of graduate degree in publishing and a journalism background will be considered. The successful candidate will teach a wide range of practical courses in the print journalism and publishing curriculum.
4. Lecturer in Interactive New Media
The applicant must have an MFA or its equivalent in Graphic Design, Interactive Media or a related field. Experience in professional settings is highly desirable. The successful applicant will teach introductory and advanced courses in digital graphics and design such as typography, web design, digital photography, and 2-D and 3-D animation.
In addition, applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the relevant software. This position is ideal for a broad-based graphics professional keen on leaving a mark on a cutting-edge interdisciplinary program.
5. Assistant Lecturer in Communication

ICT-Administration Officer
The applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, or information technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the University’s fast-expanding IT network, and will provide  technical expertise and direction in computer applications, system projects and problems in line with University growth.

National Economic Development Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:
  • Update of WVK Economic Development strategy inline with the National Office strategy and other relevant  Government policies;

  • Lobby with Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) for better products and service delivery for the IPA communities;
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Educational requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Development Economics or any other related discipline from a recognized University. An advanced degree is preferred;
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience in designing, planning, implementing, supervising and reporting on integrated economic development, relief and/or advocacy projects.
  • A results orientated leader who can handle a heavy work load as well as manage and satisfy multiple and at times conflicting organizational, donor and other stakeholder demands.
  • He /she must also be adept at public relations and be a strong team player.
  • Demonstrated success at developing strategic plans, partnerships and effective networks in the development and agricultural sectors.

1. Project Officer (Peace Building) 

The broad objective of the Commission is to examine and study problems associated with Justice and Peace, with the aim of awakening God’s people to full understanding of these problem, so that they can effectively participate in finding appropriate solutions.
Reporting to Executive Secretary – Commission for Justice & Peace, the main purpose of the position is to support Catholic Diocese of Nakuru in the implementation of the People to People Peace Project (3Ps) in Kuresoi. He/she will do this by promoting dialogue and reconciliation among the different social groups in Kuresoi, consequently encouraging renewed relationships and commitment to sustainable peace.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support community mobilizers in the formation of peace structures
  • Facilitating Intra/inter-community dialogue forums
  • Together with community mobilizers monitor the community peace structures
  • Where possible attend and resolve local disputes
  • Document  early warnings and early response indicators
Qualifications:

The successful candidate must:
  • Hold at least a bachelor degree in social sciences, peace and conflict or development studies
  • Be fluent in English and Kiswahili; knowledge of local languages is an asset
  • Be committed, flexible and able to work under pressure
  • Be able to collect, compile and analyze reports
  • Be familiar with Donor reporting guidelines standard and able to train/facilitate community groups

  • Coordinate and manage the activities of the peer counselling groups;
  • Counsel students on matters related to the code of conduct;
  • Organize seminars/workshops address members counselling needs;
  • Work closely and in collaboration with other counsellors within the University to ensure that the University is ‘a counselling aware community’.
Minimum requirements
  • A Masters degree in Counseling Psychology, Education or Clinical Psychology;
  • Mature Christians with proven ability and integrity in counseling in a tertiary institution or a busy organization;
  • At least 3 years experience in offering guidance and counseling services;
  • Membership in a counseling body will be an added advantage.
