1. Senior Banking Operations Manager

Based at our Head Office in Nairobi, this is a management position reporting to the Head of Banking. Qualifications and experience
 University degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking or related fields. MBA or relevant Masters degree will be definite advantage
 Professional qualifications in banking e.g. AKIB etc. Accounting qualifications and MIS desirable.
 Thorough knowledge of controls and procedures on banking operations
 At least 3 years managerial experience in a similar position in a banking institution.

2. Banking Operations Manager

Heading a banking branch, the purpose of this job is to grow business, profitability, improve service delivery and ensure efficient day to day operations of the branch.
The roles and responsibilities will include:
 Business growth – monitor new business and portfolio growth targets

 Monitor and ensure that all branch key performance Indicators are achieved
 Provide leadership, direction and pace to the Banking branch team
 Maintain high customer service delivery standards
 Manage operational and business risks to maximize profitability and minimize costs
 Ensure efficient cash management for the branch
 Conduct effective performance management
 Ensure branch compliance to all internal policies and procedures and regulatory requirements
 General Office Administration.
Qualifications and Experience
 Bachelors degree in a business related area.
 3-5 years service in banking operations supervisory role in a reputable financial institution
 A thorough understanding of banking operations procedures relating to Cash, cheques, cards and loan products

3. Legal Officer

Reporting to the Company Secretary, the position will provide legal advice on all legal and statutory matters with a bias to civil law, in particular conveyancing, CBK compliance and operations of the institution.
The key responsibilities of this position will be: -
 Working with Credit Administration Offer legal expertise on perfection of securities.
 Draft and review contracts for the company.
 Working with external lawyers, ensure company is well represented in all legal matters and court cases.
 Prepare monthly status reports on all legal issues and make recommendations to the management on the appropriate way forward.
 Implement recovery actions against the various stakeholders in accordance with policy, procedures and applicable legislation.
 Review and advise on the performance and adequacy of the panel of the various service providers.
 Advise and liaise with the Security Department in matters related to criminal investigations and proceedings while ensuring company position is well represented.
 Representing the company when required.

Qualifications and Experience
 Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized University.
 Postgraduate qualifications from Kenya School of Law (Advocate of the High Court)
 Current membership of LSK
 At least 3 year legal experience, either from private practice or in a financial institution with extensive exposure to conveyancing.
 Familiarity with the legal aspects of general banking operations.
 Practical experience in loan securitization process.
 Exposure to CBK compliance requirements will be a definite advantage.
 Ability to work with minimum supervision.


4. Business Development Manager – Personal Loans

Reporting to the Head of Business, the overall purpose for this position is to grow a healthy loan book and deposits from salaried clients both from private and public institutions.
The key roles and responsibilities will be:
 Personal Loans portfolio growth.
 Client retention and service level improvement.
 Portfolio quality improvement.

Qualifications and experience
 A university degree in a business related field.
 At least 5 year experience managing corporate check-off schemes.
 Proven track record of growing Personal Loans business.
 Ability to work independently.
 Team player with good negotiation skills.

5. Assistant ICT Manager – Business Systems

Reporting to the ICT Manager, the position holder’s role is to manage Faulu’s core business systems including the Core Banking System, Human Resource Management System, Financial System, Faulu Mobile Banking Solutions and applications, Financial Transaction Switching and channels systems.
Qualifications and experience
 University degree in Computer Science with strong software development skills.
 At least 4 years’ experience in IT with a busy financial institution.
 Java, Dot Net and Oracle developer skills
 Project management skills and experience.
 Wide experience in knowledge of financial reporting will be added advantage.

6. Business Analysts and Software Developer – 3 Positions

Reporting to the Assistant ICT Manager – Business Systems, the position holder will be actively involved in business software development, maintenance and support core business systems including the Core Banking System, Human Resource Management System, Financial System, Faulu Mobile Banking Solutions and applications, Financial Transaction Switching and channels systems.
Qualifications and experience
 University degree in Computer Science with strong software development skills.
 At least 1 years’ experience in ICT in a busy financial institution.

 Reporting to the Head of Retail & SME Banking, the position will be responsible for providing operational support on credit issues and assume accountability for the business credit applications, development and follow up with Relationship Managers and Credit Department.
Description:

Description: Key Responsibilities

Finance Manager

Accountant

the Regional Office and Head Office and of financial reports to clients as per contractual requirements.

He/she will report actual performance against the budget for the projects and investigate variances where applicable.

Key deliverables include assisting in the improvement of financial processes and procedures, assisting in preparation of audits and liaising with the accounting team to ensure correct balance sheet position.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and full professional qualification in CPA or ACCA. Job Title:
Regional Accountant, Horn of Africa
Reports to: Overseas Accounts Manager, copying Regional Director for information & comments

The Regional Accountant will be obliged to meet the management reporting requirements of the Overseas Accounts Manager, giving due recognition to the opinions of the Regional Director.

In addition the Regional Accountant will report on an operational basis to the Country Director of the country in which he/she is operating at the time and will have a reporting relationship to the CD in the base country.

Job Location: Based in Nairobi, Kenya, with frequent travel to the other HOA countries
Contract Details: 12 months with possibility for extension, Grade C, accompanied
Job Purpose: Continuous review of current financial systems and provision of appropriate, effective training & support in order to upgrade & standardise Concern’s finance functions in the countries of operation.
Main duties & Responsibilities:
A) Provision of support to countries in their region
  • Provide guidance & support to Country Management in areas of financial management & development of appropriate management reporting.
  • Provide guidance on technical accounting issues & on current Concern financial policies.
  • Review the finance systems, controls & manuals in place and advise on areas where improvements can be made.
  • Undertake direct support visits, based on a TOR agreed with Overseas Accounts Manager and relevant Country Director. These visits will deliver on areas identified as needing assistance.
  • Provide technical support on the accounting package, Microsoft Great Plains, and relevant reporting packages. Build the capacity and confidence of the Country Accountant in using these packages.
  • Provide direct support and/or act as Country Accountant when gaps arise. Assist in the recruitment of Country Accountants / local finance staff, where appropriate.
  • Work to develop and improve systems for donor management, in areas such as budgeting, monitoring, reporting & compliance.
  • Provide direct support to implement overseas finance support action plan
B) Training
  • Conduct induction for newly recruited Country Accountants in Concern’s financial systems, policies and reports, when circumstances demand.
  • Assist the Country Accountant in developing relevant & achievable training plans for national finance staff, in order to maximise the efficiency of the finance function in-country.
  • Design training plans & courses for non-financial managers, in conjunction with the Country Accountant, in order to develop better understanding of financial issues among budget-holders. Ensure that the Country Accountant is providing this training to non-finance managers, and follow up, where necessary.
  • Provide other training needs, when they arise, such as new policies / procedures and accounting systems
  • If necessary, organise Training/workshops for the Country Accountant in the region, on common agreed issues, in consultation with Overseas Accounts Manager
C) Liaison between country & Head Office in Dublin
  • Review and provide feedback to the Country Accountant, in conjunction with the Desk Officer and Overseas Accounts Manager, on quarterly financial reporting (FRP) and Budget & Budget revisions.
  • Follow up & assist on any queries that arise.
  • Respond to queries from the country finance team in relation to routine accounting / audit / systems & report development and liaise with Head Office, where policy issues arise.
D) Standardisation across countries
  • Provide advice & guidance to country management to ensure that they are following organisational financial policies
  • Identify common problems & issues with financial systems and work to correct same, together with finance staff in Dublin & in-country. Where possible, standardise financial procedures & systems across the countries.
  • Develop procedural documentation & guidelines, under the guidance of Overseas Accounts Manager to help ensure continuity of financial best practice.
  • Standardise the use of the accounting package, Microsoft Great Plains, in such areas, for example, as chart of accounts, support costs, donors allocations and budgets.
  • Develop standard training materials for non-finance manager training.
  • Undertake any special financial assignments, where circumstances require.
  • Support to field finance staff on Donor regulations & reporting requirements. Review of donor reports during visit to ensure compliance & audit trail.
Person specification:
  • Applicants should have a professional accounting qualification. E.g. ACCA, CIMA, CPA or CA or their equivalent.
  • At least three years post qualification experience in a finance/accounting role. This should include at least one year’s experience in an overseas position in the NGO sector.
  • Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office Programmes such as Word and Excel as well accounting packages & other database competencies.
