Position of a programmer at Mobile Platform Solutions


Employment Type: Full-Time and should be available immediately
Summary:  Mobile Platform Solutions Limited (M.P.S.L) is a fully fledged indigenous company whose main objective is to provide Virtual Distribution Solutions.  All our initiatives are I.C.T based focusing on social and Commercial Marketing solutions 
Description: Reporting to the Head Technical manager, the programmer will be expected to handle the following tasks 
  • Gather software systems requirements
  • Develop and test software systems.
  • Develop inline, online and offline user documentation.
  • Develop web based system as well as mobile based applications using different platform and technologies.
  • Train and support users.

The applicant must have the following skills:
  • Degree in Computer Science or related I.C.T field or Diploma in Information Technology with 1 year experience in similar position
  • Operating System: - Windows, UNIX, Linux and FreeBSD
  • Development Languages: - PHP, HTML, Java Script, XML/XSL/XSLT/DOM, ASP, Java, C/C++.
  • Databases:- MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server ,Paradox and Oracle.
  • Web Servers:- Apache, IIS
  • Networks and Telecom: HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAPand SMPP
  • Tools: Eclipse, Netbeans and others:

Use of Kannel: Open Source WAP and SMS gateway will be an added advantage.
Education and experience
  • Degree in Computer Science or related I.C.T field or Diploma in Information Technology with atleast one year of working experience in systems analysis, design and implementation and must demonstrate knowledge of software project cycle
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A Team player
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision and work under pressure
