DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ACROSS is looking for a suitably qualified candidate for the position of Community Service Officer. Under the supervision of the Settlement Manager, the incumbent shall Implement Community and social service activities that impress AGDM in all issues to the beneficiary communities in the Refugee settlement in Juba and Yei. More specifically, to:
Main duties shall include;
Network and ensure collaboration with partners, related government ministries, settlement sectors and represent ACROSS in Community forums as required.
Support the settlement staff in high level decision making in implantation of planned activities that takes into account the principles of AGDM.
Conduct counselling, reviews and follow up measures for vulnerable groups in the program to ensure that their plight for protection and material assistance is met as planned.
Prepare Community services sector proposals, periodic reports, monthly work-plans and organise with stakeholders outreach activities to areas within the operation catchments.
Organise and initiate cross cutting trainings and workshops including, SGBV, HIV/AIDS, counselling sessions and facilitate formation of beneficiary leadership and accountability units
Initiate Participatory assessments, collect and analyze diverse data and institutionalize necessary measures in the program.
Respond programmatically to special needs interventions in health, education, water, sanitation and livelihoods for the beneficiary population in conjunction with other sector staff.
Evaluate collected and analyzed data and institutionalize necessary responses on activities for records and reports from various sources, prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports as required
Maintain excellent relations and communications with ACROSS staff, partners and GOSS
May be required to carry out specific administrative operations and other related duties by management
QUALIFICATIONS – ESSENTIAL
Applications shall not be considered from candidates who do not possess ALL the Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Social Work, Community Development or Development Studies or relevant discipline with further trainings in community work.
2 years of progressive responsible programme or community experience, of which at least 1 year closely related to the support of community programme activities.
Knowledge on currying out assessments, data analysis, report and proposal writing
Fluent in English (written & spoken) and excellent in MS applications, Power point, Excel and word

Committed Christian with a heart for disadvantaged communities as refugees
Hardworking and able to work under pressure on short deadlines with minimum supervision
Demonstrate integrity, excellence, stewardship, and collaborative abilities.
Display trustworthiness, honesty, confidentiality and should be comfortable working in a team setting.
