The Nairobi Women’s Hospital is looking for high calibre professionals to fill positions in the fast expanding Hospital.
The successful candidates will be responsible for delivery in the Finance and Information Technology, Business Development and Corporate Affairs Functions at a strategic and operational level.
Ref I: Financial Accountant

Ref I: Financial Accountant
- Reporting to the General Manager-Finance and Information Technology
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all financial matters in the Hospital, implementing sound financial accounting policies, procedures, strategies and systems
- Ensuring timely, accurate and complete financial reports are prepared each financial year.
- Ensuring financial and management reports are prepared monthly and interpreted accurately to assist management in decision making.
- Managing the Hospital’s working capital.
- Implementing the Hospital’s budget.
- Maintaining of fixed asset register and stock control
- Preparing weekly and monthly financial performance reports and highlighting expected areas of improvement
- Preparing audit schedules and coordinating queries by internal and external auditors
- Reviewing and recommending improvement in the structure of management reports
- Assisting and providing advice to the GM-Finance & Information Technology on financial management issues.
- Continuously monitor and review information management systems and recommend changes as required.
- Ensuring that operational targets are achieved as per the annual budget.
- Managing, Motivating, supervising, appraising and developing staff in the department.
- Co-ordinating timely external audit of hospital financial statements.
- Ensuring maintenance of good corporate governance practices in all departments on financial accounts matters
- Ensure continuous and timely implementation of appropriate and value adding ICT strategies.
Required minimum qualifications
- BCOM –(Finance/Accounting) or any other discipline
- CPA (K)/ ACCA
- Membership of professional body
- Five (5) years in a busy finance and accounting environment
Skills and Competencies
- Thorough understanding of current International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Knowledge of economics, financial management and corporate planning
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Strong communication and effective interpersonal skills
Ref II: Business Marketing Manager
- Reporting to the Head of Business Development and Corporate Affairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementing both the business development & marketing strategies
- Growing the market share through new patients and creating unique customer experience
- Managing and coordinating all marketing events
- Promoting of hospital products & services in specific markets
- Accounts management
- Facilitating health talks for specific clients
- Conducting market research to determine market requirements for existing and future products
- Analyzing of customer research, current market conditions and competitor information
- Developing and implementing marketing plans and projects for new and existing products
- Managing the productivity of the marketing plans and projects
- Monitoring, review and report on all marketing activity and results
- Determining and managing the marketing budget
- Delivering marketing activity within agreed budget
- Developing pricing strategy
Required minimum qualifications
- B Com Marketing/ BA Marketing Major
- Post graduate qualification-Marketing/ Journalism/Mass Media/ Public Relations
- Minimum 3 years experience in managerial position in marketing (Service organization preferable)
- Fluent in spoken English. Excellent in written English

Ref III: Public Relations Officer
- Reporting to the Head of Business Development and Corporate Affairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementing the corporate affairs strategies
- E-marketing: Face Book and blogs
- Publishing hospital’s quarterly magazine
- Developing hospital’s promotional items
- Soliciting for media coverage for the hospital
- Media Monitoring
- Liaising with colleagues and key spokespeople
- Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media
- Collating and analyzing media coverage
- Writing and editing in-house magazines, case studies, speeches, articles and annual reports
- Preparing and supervising the production of publicity brochures, handouts, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos, photographs, films and multimedia programmes
- Devising and coordinating photo opportunities
- Organizing events including press conferences, exhibitions, open days and press tours
- Maintaining and updating information on the organization’s website
- Sourcing and managing speaking and sponsorship opportunities
- Commissioning market research; fostering community relations through events such as open days and through involvement in community initiatives
- Managing the PR aspect of a potential crisis situation.
Required minimum qualifications
- BA Public Relations/ BA Communication
- Post graduate qualification- Journalism/ Mass Media/ Public Relations
- Minimum 2 years experience in media house, PR firm, Corporate Communication firm
- Experience in Web design
- Fluent in spoken English. Excellent in written English
