ChildFund – Kenya NGO Job. Project Officer

ChildFund – Kenya a non-sectarian charitable organization whose mission is to help deprived,
excluded and vulnerable children have the capacity to become young adults, parents and leaders
who bring lasting and positive change in their communities is looking for an experienced and
qualified person to fill the position of Project Manager to be based in Email.

Project Officer Ref No: (CCFK/2009/001), Emali.
Reporting to the Regional Manager (Eastern), the Project Manager will be responsible and
accountable for all aspects of project management in particular: high quality contract deliverables/compliance; planning, implementation, monitoring, report preparation, partnership development and representation.

Tasks:
• Ensure donor contract compliance by way of planning, implementing, field monitoring visits,
timely compiling of quality narrative and financial reports
• Monitor project to pro-actively identify risks related to contract compliance and prescribe,
implement and manage corrective action
• Ensure project funds are used in accordance with ChildFund Kenya policies and procedures
including, but not limited to: ChildFund Kenya Code of Business and Ethical Conduct Policy Statement, Child Protection policy and Standards, Cash Receipts and Payments,Expenditures & Disbursements, and Authorization to procure assets.
• Provide timely and regular feedback to the Regional Manager/M&E Coordinator on the
project’s work
• Identify key partners and keep abreast of the emerging development issues within the
project’s area of operation.
• Participate in the relevant district ECCD development Policy & Advocacy formulation
forums.
• Represent and speak for ChildFund Kenya in forums/matters related to ECCD within the
project’s area of operation.

Requirements: (educational, professional, language, etc.)
• BA in the Social Sciences; Post Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Development
(ECCD) an advantage;
• Minimum 3 years experience in Project Management
• High level of credibility and integrity
• Team Player with excellent community mobilization skills
• Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
